About the Conference

The Materials Science and Technology Society of Nigeria (MSN), in conjunction with the African University of Science and Technology (AUST), Abuja, the Raw Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC), and the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), cordially invites the general public to the 25th Annual International Conference, the Nigerian International Materials Congress (NIMACON 2026) & Special Materials Lecture (SML 2026)/Materials Innovation Pitch. The conference is themed "Materials for Energy, Security and Sustainable National Industrial Development" and will hold from 16th to 20th November, 2026, at the AUST Conference Hall, Km 10 Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Road, Galadimawa, Abuja.

Call for Papers

Researchers, professionals, and students are invited to submit papers under five sub-themes covering energy materials for defence resilience, strategic minerals and critical raw materials for security, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) protection materials, circular economy and sustainable defence materials, and emerging technologies for future security materials. Abstracts of not more than 250 words, along with the title, authors' details, and corresponding author's contact information, should be submitted online at https://nimacon.msn.ng. The deadline for abstract submission is 7th October, 2026, while the deadline for full paper submission and online conference registration is 7th November, 2026. Outstanding papers may also be published in the Nigerian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering (NJMSE).

Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts: max 250 words, 3–5 keywords; indicate track and paper type (theoretical/empirical/methods/practice)
  • Full papers: 6000 words (including references), APA 7th Edition
  • Format: Times New Roman 12pt, 1.5 Line Spacing, Word Document (.docx), Not More Than 5 Keywords
  • Review process: Blind peer-review with anonymized manuscript
